It's been years since we had a Jersey City mefi get-together, would anyone be interested in having one before the cold weather really sets in? -- Opting for the Rasoi weekend buffet this time, Sunday 12/2 barring terrible weather. [more inside]

I'm pretty introverted and strangers make me nervous, so I always think about going to meet ups and then back out. Mostly because on top of all that, it seems I have to travel into New York which can get expensive and traveling there by myself freaks me out. So maybe if I changed one of the two issues I'd have better luck is what I'm thinking. Meet up with less scary travel. [more inside]

The second installment of Santa For… events is stuffing your stocking on December 23rd at the Count Basie Theatre for a night of comedy and music. Designed to raise funds and awareness for Lunch Break, this three-hour jingle balling of a show boasts the comedic antics of Brian Kirk and the musical talent of the Jirks together with national artists Elliot Lurie (lead singer of The Looking Glass), Bobby Kimball (original lead singer of Toto) and THE NERDS. We are long overdue for another Jersey City meetup at Rasoi for Indian food buffet, let's do this before the winter weather sets in. NY mefites welcome - Newark Ave is a few blocks walk from the Journal Square PATH Station.

Doctor Who's Series 7 Finale airs this Saturday, at 8pm. And we're pleased as punch to be able to watch it the Jersey City residence of oh yeah!, dedicated mefite and whovian. Folks can start coming over around 5 just to hang out, maybe watch some classic Doctor Who or whatever folks suggest - the episode starts at 8pm, so aim to arrive around 7:30 for that if possible. My very informal running group is going on a midnight official-start-of-summer run, followed by beer. The run will be a leisurely (10m/mi) 5K along the Newport waterfront. [more inside]
