The launch party for "The Little Women Cookbook: Novel Takes on Classic Recipes from Meg, Jo, Beth, Amy, and Friends," co-written by MetaFilter's own exceptinsects (more info in this projects post), is Saturday, Nov. 2, at Run for Cover in Ocean Beach. Update: We're meeting at Besties Cool Treats, at Liberty Station in Point Loma, on Sunday afternoon. Besties (Suite 103, in the "Quarter" district) has ice cream, sorbet, gelato, frozen yogurt, cookies, smoothies, popcorn, and açaí bowls; coffee options include mochas, lattes, and cappuccinos. The shop itself is kid-friendly, and offers seating. Lots more to do at the Liberty Station mixed-use complex (for instance, there's an artwalk this weekend), should you want to make a day of it. I'll be in town from the evening of July 28th through the afternoon of the 30th, for a day and a half meeting near Sea World. Tiger! Tiger! sounds like a nice place to hang out, drink and/or eat, if the fancy strikes you for any of those three. My wife (dancingfruitbat) my adorable 1-year-old son and I are going to be in San Diego from February 1st through February 5th and would love to meet up with some MeFites while we're visiting. Except for Friday night we don't have set plans in the evening although we will be meeting with a lot of relatives. The first two nights we will be in the Kearny Mesa neighborhood and then moving on to Pacific Beach for the next few days. We've gotten really excited reading the Convoy Street blog and would be especially interested in a meetup there!
