MeFi IRL

Hey everyone, Reviving this thread as it kind of stalled out last month or so. Just wondering who might be interested in an IRL meetup, while it's still warm enough to do an outdoor/backyard/patio type thing. I'd be very happy to host a backyard BBQ at my place, but now that patios are open again, I'm open to suggestions as well.

Trivia at Cat and Fiddle! This is our first trivia hang as a MeFi IRL posse, but I suspect it is gonna be a hoot. Seattle and Portland seem to do IRL trivia events all the time, so Calgary might as well put ourselves on the map as far as that's concerned. Trivia allegedly starts at 7:30pm; let's plan for a 7pm(ish) meetup! As always, this thread is available on the Day Of, if you're the first person to arrive or if are trying to find the rest of us :)

Hi gang, Hope the holidays were good for all! Our last proposed meetup ending up falling through as it was difficult to pin down a night when everyone was around - thought I would attempt a 2nd kick at the can and see if we can do a winter gathering of sorts. I am in Calgary in two weeks. I am going to see a bunch of art, and have one research day at the Glenbow, but would like beer.

Well, actually, it's a couple of nights away, but still.... Anyway, a trip to Western Canada has suddenly developed a Friday-evening-shaped gap, so any mefites care for a meetup in Edmonton? I am staying just off Whyte Ave and will be carless, so somewhere in Old Strathcona would suit me well. Sorry for the short notice, but I figured it was worth a shot. Friday the 25th is when I am tossing it out for. Does The Pourhouse suit people?

I'm relatively new to Edmonton (been here 1.5 years) and it occurred to me I've yet to see a meetup proposed for our fair city. A quick search on MetaTalk suggests that there has never been a MeFi meetup in Edmonton. How can this be?! Let's change that... [more inside]
