So I am attending a conference in Adelaide over the weekend of 25/26 May.

russm & I will be arriving in Adelaide on the afternoon of the 24th & leaving on the 28th. Anyone up for a meet up? We're free the Friday & Sunday nights & all day Monday & early Tuesday. We'll be in the vicinity of Victoria Square.

Melbourne mefites visiting Sydney in a week, for a week. Meetupping for (early) dinner at the Duck Inn on Thurs 29th.

Myself and goshling will be in Sydney and free for some meetupping next Thursday (the 29th) or Sunday evening (the 2nd) through to Wed lunchtimeish (the 5th). Apparently jonathanstrange will be in the vicinity as well. Anyone in Sydney interested in meeting the southerners and showing us how to have a good time in the harbour city? Current plan is the Duck Inn from 6-ish for an early dinner.

Professional science communicator, Mefite lurker and mate of mine Owen is doing a show at the Fringe Festival this year: science demonstrations you can do with alcohol and bar equipment. I went on opening night and it was great fun. I want to go again to see how the show is shaping up over the course of the festival and with Mefites' love of bars, drinking and science thought I'd make it an event in case folk were interested. I'm proposing Tuesday because it's tight ass Tuesday, but it's running most nights of the week. If you're keen but can't make that night, I'm pretty flexible. Official blurb under the fold.

Gomichild & Jacalata are coming to town!

Gomichild is in town next week, arriving Tuesday & leaving Sunday, and Jacalata is here 10-13 Sep & then 18 Sep - 3 Oct. There has been some vague discussion of a meetup Saturday afternoon for afternoon for Gomi, and/or maybe a Wednesday night trivia thing on the 12th which would mean we get both of them in the same place at the same time! So who's available?

The largest Medieval Festival in Australia,Abbey Medieval Festival at Caboolture, about 40 kilometres north of Brisbane. Saturday the 7th OR Sunday the 8th of July 2012 from 9am.

I can put a couple of people up at my place on the Gold Coast. Just be aware that public transport from here to there is about three hours. If you bring a car - excellent.
