Meetup time/place/date set! I hope everyone can make it. We live in the middle of nowhere and seeing some friendly mefite faces would be lovely.

But seriously, I am ready, willing and likely able, even if it involves crossing bodies of water (so long as we're talking about the Ottawa, Rideau or Gatineau Rivers, the Ruisseau de la Brasserie or the Rideau Canal)

I'd love it if as many people as possible could come...any Sat or Sun in March is free for us but I'll put this out: Sat or Sun the 10th or 11th? I don't live in Ottawa, sadly, so I'm not great for spots.

So:

1. Does that day work for people? A sort of late-midday/early evening drinks thing is the usual meetup MO, right?

2. Where?

Lemme know if this works for most/all.

Well, the Vineyards on the Byward Market is the traditional meeting-place. Their wine list is really good, but we will have to make reservations if we anticipate a bunch of people. There's also Pub Italia on Somerset Street, but they don't take reservations.

Why is it that meetups in locations I'm in never happen when I'm actually in said locale? I'd love to make it as I don't know many Ottawa folks but am working here in Turks and Caicos for a few months and won't return until April. :(

I'd be interested in meeting some mefites. I've only recently registered with the site but I've been lurking for something like 3-4 years now at least. If it's not entirely inappropriate I may be able to convince myself to swing by. First time I've seen/heard of an Ottawa meet up.

Hi all, I'll make a reservation under the name Metta Filter (or Metta, if they just want a first name) for 4:00 at this place...hopefully it won't be too crowded but better safe than sorry, I say. If there are any problems/issues I'll post here.
