East End Bar Crawl!
Let's join our MeFi powers (whatever they are) in the real world and enjoy good drinks and good company.
We will start at 8:00 pm at the Sharp Edge in Friendship, and do a crawl through Friendship / Shadyside.
*Rough schedule:
8:00 pm - Sharp Edge
9:30 pm - Harris Grill
10:30 pm - Bites n Brews
11:30 pm - Either Walnut Street or East Liberty bars
*Crawling will depend on conversation, vibe, etc...
I'm happy to give out my cell number if you MeMail me for directions, questions etc...

I'd be interested in at least some of the places; hell, it's been almost five years since my last Sharp Edge disaster, I might even try there again. I'm out of town from November 15th to after Thanksgiving, though.

I'm interested, though I might not be able to crawl far. I'll also be gone from the 3rd until the 7th of November.
(Sorry to hijack, but does anyone know any fun, baby-appropriate Halloween activities in town? I have a child to dress as a hamburger and no where to take her. We could have a Mefi Jr. meetup, maybe?)

I'm interested - it will depend on what your final date is if we're available or not. I won't promise the ability to crawl everywhere, but a few look likely.

I can't do November 11th - 13th and it looks like most of the weekends before then have a conflict.
Let's plan on November 19th. We'll start at 8:00 pm at the Sharp Edge, and perhaps scale down the number of stops.
I'll make an official 'New Event' sometime today on the IRL page. I'm looking forward to a good night out!

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that the 18th is Light Up Night. I mention it only because every year this is a major traffic fiasco for me, so for planning purposes.
We're still in the maybe camp, but the 19th would have been a definate no, so I'm glad it's been clarified. :)

Yeah, I just found out about Light Up Night. I may be vanishing at some point to head downtown for the fireworks. It doesn't look like they've posted the time for fireworks this year; anyone remember what it was last year?

Since we're meeting at the Sharp Edge, let's plan on meeting at a table in the back. So, walk up the ramp past the restrooms and there is a back room. I'll pick out a couple of tables in the middle.
I have a beard and I'll be wearing an orange fleece. My wife does not have a beard and I do not know what she'll be wearing.

It was wonderful seeing everyone! Here is the list of Pittsburgh blogs from octothorpe that I mentioned during the meetup today.
Also, it looks like we will be having a mini-meetup for those with holiday craft projects in early December. I'll try to set up a space with more than one sewing machine. Keep your eyes peeled for the meetup proposal if you're interested.

Ugh, I ended up with a horrible stomach flu and am just now crawling back to the internet... sorry we missed everyone.
