We are overdue for a meetup. The last one, at the Ben Wicks on Parliament, was fittingly genteel. Shall we try for the Leslieville pub with a warm interior and full menu? The Roy, 842 Queen East west of Logan (72 bus by TTC), Thursday, May 5, 2011, at say 19:30 hours?
No, we’re doing it at the Ceili Cottage, 1301 Queen East just east of Leslie, Thursday, May 12, 7:30 onward. (Queen streetcar. Jones 83 or Greenwood 31 buses; if you’re coming down after about 9:30, the 31B stops directly across the street at Alton and Queen.)
That looks promising! A definite maybe!

Another ARGH!! here. I'd love another Wicks-style meetup, but I may have a major deadline on May 6 that will have me working literally through the night. I'd be fine with something happening a week or so later, though, but if everything works out, I can make this one. Yeah, a definite maybe to go with the ARGH!
(I wouldn't complain about having it at the Ben Wicks again. Really.)

Ceiligh Cottage is possibly not a horrific choice.

just saw this now. wish i could will myself to trek to the east during the workweek but it is definitely not a good mental time for me to jump on subways and streetcars for most of an evening. bloor west village meetup sometime in the future would be amazing!

Diagnosis: Interior packed to walls, queue for tables, patio viable till it gets too cold, but nobody (not even me) was there first with a MeFi banner that everyone else could see. IIRC we’ve never tried a meetup in such a confined space before.

Alternately, we could do the newly-relocated House On Parliament, just up the road from the Ben Wicks. Their new digs are quite nice and much roomier than their previous location.
