New Orleans - Jazz Fest Meetup #1

Hi all! BLuR and I are coming to town for the first weekend of Jazz Fest. We're arriving (very late) on April 28 and leaving on May 2. Let's have a meetup!
Some of you may remember us from the 10th anniversary meetup...or not, as I remember there being quite alot of alcohol there.
So, yea. Dinner? Drinks? We don't have any evening plans at all yet, so Friday, Saturday, or Sunday all work.
Edit: We may bail if we are wiped out after a day at the fest but we are going to try our hardest to be there!

Yea, we're staying at the Prince Conti Hotel (Bourbon and Conti) but we aren't afraid to venture out of the quarter :)

Do any of you have suggestions of where we could meet up, that's not in the quarter (trying to spare you all)? Someplace in the Marigny? We went to Mimi's in the Marigny during the 10th anniversary extravanganza.

I am free Friday night.
Mimi's is usually pretty crowded on the weekend, but the Lost Love Lounge across the street is is nice, and has vegitarian pho (also regular pho).
I always like to take people to bacchanal. Live music, great outdoor area, usually great food. Also Vaugn's is around the corner for possible continued drinking. It is pretty far into the Bywater so might be a little more inconvenient for everyone to get to.

I love Bacchanal, though I went at 8 this past Saturday and got the very last (2-person, on the balcony) table. Late afternoon meetup/early evening might be better for seating issues, because I imagine it wil only get more crowded during Jazz fest.

Oh, I haven't been to Bacchanal in forever!
If it wouldn't be too crowded, my vote might be for that.

Hey folks! Thanks for the suggestions. I think Bacchanal seems like a good idea. I would imagine that anywhere popular is going to be crowded like mostly vowels says.
Just to let you all know, we are extreme northerners (Minnesota, where it is snowing tonight) and so we might be toast after a hot day at the fest. I'll apologize in advance if we have to bail at the last minute. However, I remain hopeful that we can make it!
I'm going to confirm it for Friday at 7pm just to get it on the calendar. Let me know if that doesn't work...
