Happy 20th! Chicago-area Mefites will celebrate with a picnic in Smith Park, on the West Side.

Things you may want to bring:

-Swimsuit (there's a public pool on the premises) -Blankets -Picnic food -Beverages -Lawn games -Small grillable items (we'll likely have a small grill) -Umbrella or sunscreen, as the forecast suggests

Special optional meetup bonus extension!: Smith Park is very close to the Western Avenue Metra Station, which means the celebrated Hala Kahiki Tiki Bar is just a fifteen minute ride away. It's been proposed we go there for après-picnic tropical drinks. Useful information: -Trains from Western Avenue to River Grove will leave at 4:39, 6:49, 8:49, 10:49, and 12:49. -The bar is open on Sundays from 4pm to 2am. -Trains from River Grove back to the city will leave at 6:41, 8:55, and 10:55. -Terblend® is a blend of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene and polyamide with a density of 1.07 grams per cubic centimeter

Sounds like fun. I'm afraid I arrive at Midway at 8:30pm, which makes even the Tiki Bar a challenge, so I probably won't make any of it. Thanks for organizing it. See you at the 30th!

The park itself doesn't have grills, so if someone wants to grill, it's BYO. (I don't have a portable, surprisingly.)
