Hot Game Haus In The Summertime

Sat October 7 at 12:00 PM, Game Haus
1800 S Brand Blvd, Glendale, CA, USA (Map & Directions)
Lets get together for a late-summer afternoon of board and card games! No experience necessary! Game Haus is a laughter-filled place in Glendale that has over 10,000 games, from strategic board games to party games like Pictionary. We usually get a mix of experienced players to help guide us and people like me, who have never played most of the games, and everyone is really patient. It's always a great time. Plus, they love us!
There is a flat cover charge which gives you unlimited time to play unlimited games. Once we pick a date we will definitely need to make a reservation a week or so out. Cover charge for an RSVP is a non-refundable $10.

We usually spend about four hours there. Like last time, I've set up a poll for four or five weekends, but this time, to better include MeFites who'd prefer meeting at an earlier, quieter time, I'm only including afternoon options. Pick the dates and times that work for you and we'll confirm in a couple of weeks.

There is no alcohol allowed and no outside food permitted, but they have a small cafe with prepared food and desserts.

Count me in! Slight preference for October, but I'm free all the days.

My schedule is pretty open on the weekends at this point, except for 10/22, and a yet-to-determined other Sunday in October.

This sounds neat, thanks for the initiative, Room 641-A. I indicated likely availability via that handy poll ^_^

Thank you for getting this organized Room 641-A. Let me know if you need someone else to use their credit card for reservations. I'm going to check my calendar and reply to the poll.

For those who haven't been and are daunted by getting around LA, GameHaus is located near Atwater Village and the 5 (Golden State) and 2 freeways, so it's close to downtown LA. It's also near a convenient bus stop.

BTW, they now have a liquor license and serve beer and cider.

I think we can go ahead and pick a date. The most popular combos are Oct 7 - all hours, and Oct 14 & 15 - 1-6. That should cover everyone's availability, which is a nice change.

Here's a new poll. I'll leave it open for another couple of weeks and then we can finalize the details.

I'm so excited about this!

Has anyone been since they started serving? I hope it's not too different.

Unfortunately I am on travel more or less all of October, and the time I'm not on travel I'm frantically catching up on everything I was supposed to do while I was away. I hope you all have fun, though!

The most popular date is Saturday, Oct. 2. I'm going with noon to give people time to do their morning thing.

I gave Game Haus a call about reservations and they said they weren't really needed for that early in the day. That's good news, and means the cover is only $5 this time, instead of the $10 with reservations.

If anyone is on the fence about joining this Saturday, you have my assurance that you will have a nice time and laugh and smile throughout the afternoon. In my experience from the last two Game Haus events, this meetup is made up of nice MeFites and friends enjoying a few games in a judgment-free environment.

Come late/ leave early if need be, but If you're remotely interested I hope you'll join the group in playing board games and meeting one another. Not needing to RSVP and the low $5 cost of admission is the cherry on top!

The parking situation isn't always great, so I park in the parking lot of businesses that are closed on the weekend along San Fernando Road. The entrance to Game Haus is on San Fernando Road, even though the address says Brand Blvd.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

:::Very sad face::: I woke up under the weather, and went straight back to sleep. It didn't help. I'm still under the weather. Don't want to spend the germs. Have fun, y'all.

I had a great time, as usual! Sorry not everyone could make it but I'm going to propose one last Game Haus for the year, if we can work it around the holidays.

"Werewolves, open your eyes" keeps popping into my brain.
