---Be part of Washington's most popular free holiday event, the Kennedy Center's Messiah Sing-Along. Back by popular demand, the evening concert on December 23 at 6 p.m. in the Concert Hall features conductor Nancia D'Alimonte as she leads members of the Opera House Orchestra, guest soloists, a chorus of 200, and a very enthusiastic audience in Handel's masterpiece. A family and community tradition since 1971!

Performance Timing: Parts I & II-- approximately 50 mins. each, with a 15-min. intermission

FREE -- TICKETS REQUIRED

NOTE: Please note the new concert start time of 6 p.m. Tickets will be distributed beginning at 4:30 p.m. on the day of the performance (Fri., Dec. 23) in the Hall of Nations. TWO (2) tickets per person in line will be distributed. Tickets are reserved seating.

Paid parking is available, for around $25. I will be driving. There will also be shuttles from the Foggy Bottom metro stop.

I have put the start time early, because my guess is people will start to line up by noon and the line will be outside the building by 4 pm. If you are there 2 hours before start time, you can generally get tickets. It is sooo worth it.

Just FYI, I've done this before, and when they used to give out tickets at 10 am, people used to camp out overnight the night before. If that's any indication, people who want tickets at 4:30 will probably start lining up very early in the morning. The last time I did it (for the 10 am distribution) people who got there 4 hours before the distribution time did not get tickets.

So bummed I'm not going to be able to make it this year.

FYI, there's slightly cheaper parking to be had at the Watergate complex.
