I'm new to New Brunswick and would like to have some delicious food with Mefites.
Let's meet at the Edison Diner on Saturday, October 3rd at 7:30 PM.
Welcome to New Brunswick! The best diners are the Dish Cafe in Highland Park and Edison Diner in Edison. But there are lots of good restaurants in New Brunswick itself as well.

It's only open until 2:30pm, but Le Peep in Edison is quite yummy. My weekends in September are rough, but I am in favor of NJ meetups.
If a bar is an acceptable venue, Destination Dogs or Harvest Moon.

I am not a fan of Omega, but YMMV. Another option is Skylark, though that's a fancy diner and not a true Jersey hole in the wall.
I don't live in New Brunswick currently, but I'm from the area and will be home during the week of September 21-26. Would definitely come to a meetup then, something in downtown New Brunswick or Highland Park would be easiest for me.

Ah, you are the one relocating from Chapel Hill! I posted in your "best of the triangle" thread a few weeks back. Welcome, fellow Tarheel!
Kids' sports take over my weekends in the fall, but if the stars align and I am free when you decide to get together, I'll drive up. Not sure how youall feel about vegan food, but Veganized is a newish place in New Brunswick with crazy-amazing vegan sandwiches and burgers. Worth knowing about, even if you end up somewhere else.
Regretfully, there is no diner in the New Brunswick area as good as Breadman's in Chapel Hill. I say this as a born & bred Jersey girl.

Whoa, hey! I'm the Highland Park resident who commented on your relocation thread. Here are my suggestions for meetup spots:
Destination Dogs (New Bruns) - bar, fancy hot dogs (better than it sounds on paper), nice atmosphere
Old Man Rafferty's (New Bruns) - pretty standard American fare, but good for groups
Jose Tejas (Iselin) - right on the edge of Edison, amazing Tex Mex and stellar margaritas, crowded and fun
Stage House Tavern (Somerset) - great outdoor bar/patio, somewhere between a bistro and an American restaurant, I love meeting up with people here

September is tough for me, the weekend of the 18th is right out. Most people will probably be busy on Labor Day Weekend. Might be able to do something on the 11th/12th or 25th/26th!

Hi all! Glad to see interest! What about the 25th at Destination Dogs at 6:30 pm? I will go ahead and convert this to a "new event" and if people would rather elsewhere, I'll switch it to the Edison Diner, which was also mentioned multiple times in this thread.

I won't be able to make a weeknight meetup unless I take a vacation day, but, I've got a bunch I'm going to lose if I don't use them before the end of the year, so, a mefi-meetup is a good enough excuse as any, so, I'm still a strong maybe.

Crap, I have an improv show that night. That's what I get for not checking the site for a few days. :( If you are done in an hour (hahahaha) and want to head to Sayreville to watch some improv for $5 at 8pm, let me know. :) Otherwise, next time.

Edison Diner is a solid choice. I probably/maybe can make it? If I'm not there, get something with fries. They're delicious.

What's the current actual head-count? I'm on the fence - it looks pretty windy out up here, though not rainy, but I'm pretty exhausted from the work-week, not sure I'm going to be alert enough for the driving.
