Europe's best craft and boutique beer festival, held at Brouwerij de Molen, in the Netherlands. Now a MetaFilter tradition!

Each year, the Dutch brewery Brouwerij de Molen organises a beer festival and invites a bunch of their friends, who turn out to be some of the most interesting brewers in Europe. The festival lasts two days. Entry price is around 20 euros, which includes a glass, 8 beer tokens, a programme, and a bottle of water to help cleanse the palette. The festival is also offering special beer-themed 3-course meals each evening. Information will be posted when it's available. More information on the festival can be found on their website. The list of brewers and beers is still being assembled, but a number of Scandinavian brewers are coming, including Narke. Each year, the breweries are challenged to produce a particular beer style. This year's style is Saison.

I've seen no information about meals, but there's always plenty of stalls with goodies. We won't starve. However, due to a catastrophic brain failure, I've managed to double-book Liz and I for the Friday night. We have tickets for King Crimson in Utrecht, so we have to leave around 7 at the latest. We'll be there all day saturday though. I'll be there early both days, probably from 1 or even earlier. BTW, there's a 'pre-sale' link on the website, which allows you to prepay for your entrance and a number of tokens at cheaper rates than at the festival, and also lets you breeze in using a special queue, as opposed to the longer and slower one that the hoi polloi will use.

Oh, yay! The gang will then be fair complete! And, beguiled by my tales of lovely folks, intoxicating beverages, not to mention...smoked, grilled, cheese-infused worst... (*o, be still my heart*) two more plusones may show up tomorrow. Ha! Dave, I should be rolling in around two, so I'll give you or Liz a call after I sail past the hoi polloi. See you at four, Martin. Blessings continue to rain upon your head for proudly bearing that worst back to the table last year. I will never forget how we all first gave it the side-eye, took teensy tastes, and then morphed into vultures.
