In Calgary

I am in Calgary in two weeks. I am going to see a bunch of art, and have one research day at the Glenbow, but would like beer.

Oooooooh! We haven't had a meet-up in over a year, primarily because everyone is still unfreezing themselves after winter 2013/14. I'm game!

I'm staying with a friend downtown. I want to see shows at Illingswerth Kerr, The Nickel, The Glenbow and the Esker (Well the same show) The research I need to do is also at the Glenbow.

I'm also out of town the 30th-1st, but in town for the 2nd.

I'll also note that the 1st is Superbowl Sunday, which may affect pub selection.

Yeah, 2nd is possible. I think if we select a locale with some care, we might be able to avoid the Superbowl craziness too.

I think it's a case of it never happens to us! Anyone ski/board? Supposed to finally snow properly this weekend.

Yeah, missed it (mind you, I was traveling this week).

The idea of a meetup around something involving snow or mountains seems like a decent idea. I only go to ski resorts for social reasons (mostly x-c ski and backcountry ski tour), and I'd be into it. That said, next weekend is 'family weekend', so it might be a bit crowded at the resorts.
