Sat May 10 at 8:00 PM, The Town Hall
123 West 23rd Street, New York, NY, USA (Map & Directions)
The Thrilling Adventure Hour will be doing a show at The Town Hall on Saturday, May 10th at 8pm. Any mefites planning on attending? Anyone interested in congregating somewhere before or after the show?
(Town Hall is on 43rd between 6th & Broadway, so I assume anything nearby will be crowded or over-priced, but I'm so excited that there are still tickets available for the show! I will be sad if I don't get to geek out about it with people in person on the day.)

Put me down for maybe for now. I have to wait until next Friday before I can buy tickets (subject to availability).

Good luck - the seat map is still showing plenty of balcony-level seating, and the side orchestra seating. I ended up taking orchestra row Q seat 1, I figure an aisle seat gives me the best shot at an unobstructed view since the front balcony row seats are sold.

I'm really surprised to see so many seats available still since tickets have been on sales since March. The 'Welcome to Night Vale' 6/4 show tickets went on sale yesterday at noon and are already completely sold out (managed to get myself a seat in time, thankfully). I know Night Vale fandom is more visible online than TAH fandom, but I know TAH tickets for the Largo shows are hard to come by, and the last time TAH was in New York they sold out. I guess they were just in a smaller venue that time.

The Thrilling Adventure Hour is a show written (by Ben Acker & Ben Blacker) in the style of classic radio drama, performed live on stage regularly in L.A., and released as a podcast broken out by the various segments - Sparks Nevada Marshall on Mars, Beyond Belief, The Adventures of Captain Laserbeam and others. The show has been going since 2005, so the cast has great chemistry together and Acker & Blacker write to everyone's strengths.

I'm not sure what the live show would be like for people that haven't been listening to the podcast. I mean, I'm sure it would be entertaining - the regular cast is great, and they've got a bunch of special guests for the Town Hall show (Dick Cavett, Zachary Levi, John Hodgman, Ira Glass, Jonathan Coulton & more). Of the show segments, only Sparks Nevada is serialized, but I'm sure they'd use all stand-alone stories for the traveling live show. But the in-jokes might get annoying if the rest of the audience is going nuts over something that doesn't seem that funny.

Hey, KingEdRa, were you able to get a ticket or are you still a maybe? Lots of seats left still according to the Ticketmaster map.
