San Francisco French Convo Meetup

Tue October 12 at 6:00 PM, Passion Cafe
28 6th St, San Francisco, CA, USA (Map & Directions)
Bonjour! Time for our third meetup. I'll propose next Tuesday, 10/12 6:30ish but we need a venue. I think we decided last time that conversing within a French ambiance is not mandatory, although a much cheaper food/drink option is. People, throw out your suggestions.
UPDATE: Passion Cafe it is and I made a res (in my name) for 6 which is earlier than we discussed - BUT - I'll be done with work around 5/5:30 so I'm heading over there earlier. I'll also call them mid-afternoon to confirm they're open and will post back if we need Plan B (again...)

Any particular neighborhood work for people? I'm certainly not wedded to downtown.

I don't need to stay downtown either -- I just think we need to stick relatively near BART. Maybe somewhere in the Mission near 16th?

Sorry for ducking out at the last minute last time. Emergency we couldn't get out of. And this time, we'll know how to say a few more things. :)

I'm sad that Passion Cafe was randomly closed that night. We've had some very good food and drink there.

I'm looking forward to it!

I'll do some eatery brainstorming along the Bart lines. Are we still considering our imperialist slant for Out the Door? I would like to give Passion Cafe a shot at some point, too--the menu looked promising and the rooftop terrace seemed lovely.

I have no problem getting in touch with my inner imperialist (especially when it means being able to eat delicious fresh spring rolls dipped in heavenly peanut sauce) -- but I'm not *as* stoked about eating in the mall.

We could try for a do-over at Passion Cafe and one of us could call that afternoon to make sure they're not experiencing another emergency closure...

Given the weather, sitting outside would be quite pleasant. So yeah, I say we give Passion Cafe another shot.

Just called and confirmed that they will in fact be open for dinner tonight. Dude had a totally French accent--I was tempted to speak to him French. I'll save that for later tonight, though.
