Rio de Janeiro meetup

Meet like-minded Metafilterites (and visitors!) in Rio de Janeiro in the next couple of weeks? I'm not posting a bar yet, though I'd prefer somewhere around Lapa, because I'd like to see if there's any interest and where people are living/visiting...

Too bad! I was in Rio in August and don't think I'll be back any time soon. But if you ever make it up to Salvador, let me know!

I'll be in Rio in November in Botafogo for a few days. The upside is that it's close to Gloria, but the downside is I will be short on time. (Final destination is Sampa). I'll be there the fourth/fifth.

i can do bota, lapa, gloria, or ipa/copa if there are more out of country visitors coming. first wanted to get a sense if there were any interests?

I would rather NOT do Ipa/Copa. I am actually not interested at all (I'm no tourist in Brazil). I would much prefer some little known boteco on a cool street in Bota, Lapa or Gloria.

Alright, never mind me after all. We are flying into Rio on the 4th, and planned on spending a few days there before flying on to our final destination - SP. Tam tickets being what they are, we are flying directly from Galeao (Tom Jobim, whatevs) straight to Cumbica. Sorry folks, ain't meeting any Cariocas this time through Brazuka.
