Put Up or Shut Up Dept.: After complaining for months that the Ben Wicks at 424 Parliament south of Carlton would be a perfect venue for a meetup, particularly if we could reserve the snug (“Lounge”) at the front of the place, I hereby propose such a meetup. Thursday night, October 7, at, say, 20:00 hours plus.

Tuesday night? Tricky for us Mississaugans who have to work the next morning. But then, I bail more often than not, so my opinion shouldn't count for much.

Do you use RSS at all, maudlin? Because the IRL tag pages have their own RSS feed. I just added the IRL/Toronto page to my RSS feed so that I don't miss the announcements but don't have to keep checking back on IRL, either.

Weeknights are hard, and an 8pm start is hard, but it's not so far away from where I live, so.... will try to get myself there for at least one beverage. (Sunday afternoons would be be ideal for me, such is my life!)

Oh man, all the sickness in this thread! Feel better soon, guys.
It was a fun, talky evening with those who showed, and the Ben Wicks really is a great place for a meetup. Decent beer, comfy chairs, not crowded at all, and the music wasn't too loud until almost closing. A little more Jian Ghomeshi and it would have been perfect. We should definitely try it again for another meetup.
tantrumthecat is musing over bad movie choices for another date, so if anyone has any ideas, jump in.
