Halloween party in Oakland!

Last year we hosted a Metafilter Halloween party, and we though, what the hell, we could do this again. We have tons of space, a patio, and are generally okay people. We're just under a mile from 2 different Bart stations, and have plenty of parking. If you need an excuse to wear a costume, here you go! If you don't want to wear a costume, we won't judge! Bring something to drink or eat and we'll make it a party! UPDATE- We are apt 404. To buzz in you need to press #15 on the intercom.

I happen to be in town for work on the 27th so I thought what the hell... I'm at least 10% tempted to throw together a simple costume. Where are good places in SF to pick up cheap costume bits and pieces (while jet lagged)?

We could all just bring Erberus one random costume item. You'd end up with a scarf and a tiara and an eyepatch and a pair of fairy wings and you'd be...a pirate princess? This actually sounds entertaining....

Hi! I can't make it ot the party, sadly, but: On that VERY SAME DAY, at 3 in the afternoon, I'm doing a reading at the Fireside Lounge in Alameda. I think I'm the second person in the lineup, and as far as I know I'll be the only one reading fiction rather than poetry. Anyone who's thinking about showing up: choose a word, any word, and I promise to work it into my story.
