Philadelphia - Science on Tap Meetup

Let's have drinks while we learn about science!
The next Science on Tap is Monday, September 10, 6 p.m. at National Mechanics (22 S. 3rd St.). The presentation is called "Takeover by Alien Invaders: Invasive Species in our Oceans."
I realize 6 p.m. is a pretty early start time for those of us heading there after work. If anyone can get there on the early side to grab a table, that would be fantastic. If not, we may end up standing for the presentation, though we should be able to get a table afterwards to linger over drinks/dinner. I've only been to one Science on Tap before, but my recollection is that it gets pretty packed out for Science on Tap but thins out quickly afterwards.

Managed to find the giant, visible button this time! I will try to be on the early side too. Should we build in a back-up bar in case we have to regroup somewhere like last time?

I'm going to say that for the Science on Tap and Nerd Nite meetups, there won't be a backup bar option, because we can always all just stand anywhere to listen to the lecture and then assemble as a group afterwards to eat/drink/talk.
Thanks to everyone who will try to get a table! I may be able to get there as early as 5:30 but it's always a little bit of a wildcard whether I'll get to leave work promptly at 5.

This sounds fun, and I haven't done a meetup in a long time. Sadly, I'm not close enough to save a table, but I can be there in time for the presentation.

I'm still planning to leave work as close to 5 as I can and will get there sometime in the 5:30-6:00 window. Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

Just got here and I think we've missed our shot at a table. I'm sitting on a pew/bench thing at the back of the room, to your left as you come in the door. White short-sleeve blouse and blue jeans. I look like my profile picture except no glasses today.

We have moved to the table just past the weird lone pew to the left of the entrance. And when I said "white blouse" I meant "white with red stripes."
