Short-notice Los Angeles Meetup: Backyard food and home studio fun recording session at my house tomorrow (Saturday) or Sunday?

Sat August 4 at 7:00 PM, The World Famous house (MeFiMail me for directions and the real address)
2295 Honolulu Ave, La Crescenta, CA, USA (Map & Directions)
Does anyone want to come to my place, make some food, have some drinks, goof around in the home recording studio, and then post the results to MeFiMusic? We live in a small house in Montrose but have a nice shady backyard and deck and a good kitchen. The best time and day for me would be tomorrow (8/4) or Sunday (8/5) - ideally in the late afternoon or evening.
In connection with the MeFiMusic Radiohead Album Challenge, which has been extended to the end of August, I mentioned a while back to carsonb that I'd be happy to have him and others over to my very modest home recording studio to help out with his track. It seems like a good excuse to have people over. Anybody in on short notice?

7pm tomorrow (Saturday) is a close shave for me, BH to Montrose, but I should be able to make it thereabouts.

Wish I was still there. You have no idea how oppressively hot and sticky it is in Toronto right now.

(I warn you re: music, though: I cannot carry a tune in a bucket -- unless I'm singing along to Beatles Rock Band, evidently, and even then I think everyone was just being very kind -- so it will be best if you just hand me a cowbell or something.)

I'll round up some foodstuffs. And, although the kitchen is equipped with a wine fridge, it is predictably empty, and I wouldn't know where to start in that department. So if people want grown up drinks, we should probably coordinate on that. Let's see how many people it looks like we're going to have and then we can all figure that part out.

Saturday, 7:00 is a go, then?

Grilling is an option, both on a small outdoor grill and on the indoor gas stove grill thingy. That would be great. Let's coordinate and I'll make a Trader Joes run in the afternoon.

We also have corn that can be grilled. It's not midwest corn, but it will do. I think the klangstons will also join us, so veg stuff for the grill is ideal.

holyrood: I've cut way back on eating meat, so if you bring veggie burgers or something like that, I'd partake!

We'll bring some wine and some other nibblies -- maybe something in the cheese/crackers/fruit neighborhood.

Also, I have more guitars than I know what to do with, as well as various other musical instruments, so if you don't feel like hauling one over here, you're welcome to use any of mine.

What a great night! Thanks everyone for coming over, bringing food, playing, singing, and just generally being awesome.

I'll put the results up on MeFiMusic as soon as I get some time to mix it right (heh).

And then the OK LA MeFite Action Band will go on tour. Oh yes.
