Let's meet up with our kids! Or not, if you don't have kids. You don't have to have kids. But if you do... let's meet them up!

We're moving to Boston with our toddler, and I know other Bostonian MeFites have toddlers... and maybe other other Bostonian MeFites want to sit around and watch toddlers because it's kind of like watching really small drunk people? Anyway. I'd like to propose some kind of weekend meet-up in a kid-friendly venue - like perhaps the Common? Bring yr tots! Or not! Or whatever!

I don't have kids but, like dogs, I enjoy the opportunity to play with other people's. Is that creepy? Hm.

Ha, doesn't seem creepy to me, but I spent years as a nanny in order to get paid to "borrow" other people's kids before having my own... so... I've heard via email from some other friends who might be interested in attending, are there any particular date/time suggestions? I'd like to suggest a weekend afternoon around 1-2ish as that works best for my particular small human. Picnic at the Common next to the playground seems like it would be the best for maximum child-entertainment and non-child-haver enjoyment.

I love this idea! Unfortunately, our August is really booked so I don't think we could make it this time around. But I'd love to do this kind of a meetup in the fall!

A mid-afternoon meetup sounds good to us! So, is a Saturday better? Or a Sunday? Last weekend in August perhaps? We could do sometime in September, too, if that allows banjo_and_the_pork to join in.

Hey, that's a great idea. And convenient, since August is the only month I'm home for the next several months. I'm just outside of Boston, but the Common is easy.

We're out of town first and second weekends in September, so... either the 18th or 25th work fine for us. Saturday or Sunday is pretty irrelevant so long as we're in the mid-afternoon time frame. I'm gonna go ahead and call this for the 18th (Saturday) at 1ish at the Common (next to the playground) - just to put it on the meet up calendar. It'll pretty much be a BYO-snacks/toddlers/beverages sort of affair. (We'll certainly be able to do this again in the fall w/banjo_and_the_pork and anyone else who can't make it this time around!)

We can change to the 25th, shouldn't be a problem. I just picked a date to put it on the calendar - I can still edit it. Not set in stone by any means.

Not sure if you're still doing this day, especially as the weather is a little iffy, but I won't be able to make it - i have another commitment at 2pm. I'd probably stop by if you do next Saturday instead though. But again, I am kidless, so I'm not bringing much to the party. ^_^ Have fun!
