Take Ten is a monthly music and spoken-word night at The Cumberland Arms in Newcastle. I've been booked for a rare transatlantic appearance, and I'd love to say hello to some local MeFites. Have a pint of real ale or cider on me! Admission is £4.

You weren't the only one, klausness. The event was cancelled on account of the rains and flooding that crushed the northeast yesterday. Of course, we were already in Newcastle when the announcement went out, so we didn't learn about it until we actually got to the Cumberland Arms. I am a very disappointed, and soggy, American abroad.
