I'm an American in Newcastle for a few weeks (until May 12), with not much to do except work, during the day. So, I was thinking if anyone was bored and wanted to meet up, it might be fun. Dinner or drinks, maybe? Or perhaps something next weekend (May 5/6)?
I don't have a car, but I am near the train station and can take the bus.

Edit: changed to Sydney. How about Saturday, May 5?

Hi Dirtbike,

I'm in Sydney and don't mind getting the train somewhere to meet. This is not my turf so I can't make suggestions but I like alcohols and eating things.

Fine with me. I changed the event. I can come up/down to Sydney on Saturday. Would that work? I can meet anywhere that is accessible by bus or train, and anytime that allows me the three hour train ride back to Newcastle (but I don't mind taking an early/late train).

I should point out that because the initial IRL notification went in Newscastle, and I didn't get another when it was changed to Sydney, that other mefites may miss that it's now switched to Sydders.

Regarding where to meet, I'm not from Sydney, so I don't really know what's good. Is there a standard meetup place that you guys have?

The last one I attended was at Glenmore, which is down for renovations, but The Australian is close by.

Sorry guys - the little tacker is in the midst of teething and let us know what she thought about the whole process last night (summary: not positive). My partner valiantly dealt with it, but the downshot is I'm looking after the baby today whilst she tries to catch up on some sleep. House-hunting, and mefite-hunting off the menu, alas.

Was looking forward to meeting you both, too.
